We manufacture exclusively in New Zealand to ensure an ethical product that is made to the highest quality and safety standards. Up to a whopping 98% of raw materials, like YKK zips and care labels, are all made in New Zealand as well. There is no cheap outsourcing with dubious production conditions and quality that cannot be guaranteed. Everything is 100% ethically made in New Zealand.
We guarantee that we only use New Zealand Merino Wool, there is no substitute for the quality and customers say they can feel the difference at first touch. Our preferred choice is Certified Organic Merino. Merino is the worlds most perfect baby fabric; No scratch, no itch and entirely safe for delicate or sensitive skin. All our Merino is sourced from non-mulesing certified suppliers.
All our (organic) merino and (organic) cotton is spun, knitted and dyed with certified organic fabric dyes right here in New Zealand.
We only use the highest quality nickel-free domes.
We love our environment as much as we love your little one and we are very proud to say that all our packaging is 100% plastic free. Our sleeping bags are packaged in cotton drawstring back packs* that double as a handy storage bag or are great for use as swimming/beach or kindy bag.
New Zealand (Organic) Merino is one of nature's most amazing fibres. It has a unique ability to create a micro environment over and around the skin. In both cold and warm conditions, it maintains an ideal temperature and releases excess moisture away from the body, keeping your child dry and warm without the risk of overheating. New Zealand Merino is also extremely soft and gentle on the most delicate skins. The lanolin residue on the merino fibres is naturally anti allergen and prevents the build up of odours. The merino we use is 100% from New Zealand.
Organic Cotton has none of the harmful chemicals found in normal cotton and is produced without the use of pesticides making it a much healthier option, especially for infants and those with skin conditions such as eczema. Please find more info on Why Organic cotton here.
Bamboo fabric is more sustainable than most textile fibres, and its numerous properties also make it a great choice for clothing. Bamboo is highly water absorbent. This translates in an excellent wicking ability that pulls moisture away from the skin so that it can evaporate. It has many antibacterial and antifungal properties which it is apparently able to retain even after multiple washes, thus reducing the presence of bacteria which are the cause of unpleasant odours. Bamboo fabric also has insulating properties which will keep the wearer cooler in the summer and warmer in winter.
Cotton Our cotton fabric is knitted and dyed with eco-friendly and child safe dyes (GOTS certified) in New Zealand and is of superior quality.

Eco-friendly Fabric Dyeing and Finishing
All of Snugbags cotton dyes and merino dyes and dyeing auxiliaries meet the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) - the most comprehensive and the highest Standard Certification for Organic Textiles, and are approved by the Institute for Marketecology (IMO).
Dye processes are formaldehyde free and do not use solvents. We only use vegetable oils that are biodegradable. All our fabrics are dyed in New Zealand.
We love gorgeous prints but we don’t like the use of unnecessary chemicals on our precious natural fabrics (by screen printing). Therefor all our ‘prints’ are woven into our fabrics using only non-bleached & non-dyed cotton. So we still have gorgeous prints – just without the nasties.
We carefully monitor our entire production process to ensure that environmental criteria are being met to ensure to we deliver a product of the highest standard and quality.
