Handmade in India by Tibetan refugee women, our gorgeous SNUGGLE DOLLS make a very special gift.

Their hair is made from strands of pure wool and the ‘skin’ from 100% cotton knit. Each doll is filled with 100% pure sheep’s wool and therefore feels warm and soft to cuddle and touch. Dolls can be hand-washed and the clothing is made from cotton and is removable.

Each doll is lovingly made by only one woman, adding to the spirit of the doll, and for every 5 SNUGGLE DOLLS sold, we will donate one to a Tibetan Refugee Child!

SNUGGLE DOLLS are 100% Natural, Unique, Fairtrade and Ethical.

Please note: While maintaining a distinct style, due to its handcrafted nature, each doll will vary slightly and fabrics used for the garments are frequently changed. 

Medium dolls are 28cm and large dolls 36cm.

Who make our SNUGGLE DOLLS?

We have developed a close working relationship with Mona, a German woman who lives in India with her Tibetan husband and her two kids. In 2007 they started a doll making project to provide training and a supportive work environment for the most vulnerable women in the Tibetan refugee community.

Many of the women in the project are in financial need and very eager to work, but lack any formal education and training or have long been unemployed. Some of the Tibetan women – especially the newly-arrived refugees – hardly speak Hindi or English, and therefore have few chances of employment. Also in India women have demanding domestic commitments and find it difficult to combine these with standard work schedules. 
The project provides flexible working hours, a supportive environment, and training individuals in accordance to their existing skills and potential.
